Drugstore Halloween Part 2: Sinful Colors Pumpkin Spice and Black Magic

Hey everybody!  Have I ever been having some fun at the drugstore this Halloween. :)  So many polishes for so little $$$.   I've already shown you a couple from the Fantasy Makers Wet n Wild collection, and today I've got two from the Sinful Colors Halloween collection.

First up is a polish that is great for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or anytime you're craving pie but on a diet - Pumpkin Spice.

Pumpkin Spice is a fiery orange and gold glitter mix in a clear base.  This pumpkin's on fire!!

I layered two coats of Pumpkin Spice over China Glaze Bend Over Backwards.  Then I decided to be all cutesy and do a sort of reverse accent nail. :D  The formula was a bit thin, but I got loads of glitter with every bottle dip.

Let me tell you, this is one flashy glitter polish.  The colors glow to make a party on the nail.  Very festive...I think I almost prefer it for Thanksgiving, you know, when everybody gets the after-dinner sleepies and you need a jolt to wake you up.  Well, this gets your attention way better than caffeine, AND it won't burn holes in your tummy! :)

Next up is definitely a Halloween polish...Black Magic.

Wow...this is so pretty!  Black Magic is an orange and black glitter mix in a clear base.  It's also loaded with tiny silver glitters that make this polish come to life with a diamond-esque look.

I layered two coats of Black Magic over Sally Hansen Black Out.  Then I decided to press my luck and attempt cuteness TWICE with a reverse accent nail. :P  The formula for Black Magic was not as thin as Pumpkin Spice and was very easy to apply.

Black Magic has that burning ember look I love in a black glitter polish.  It's just as festive as Pumpkin Spice...only it's a dark and brooding kind of festive. ;)  Both Pumpkin Spice and Black Magic dried a little bit dull, but some good ol' top coat perked up that shine just like Mop 'n' Glow did on your 1970's linoleum! :D  Oh, I forget...like 99.7% of you all weren't even born then...:P

Have you all checked out the Sinful Colors Halloween collection?  Don't be afraid of a frightening price...I found mine at Walgreens for $1.99.  Well, they were actually on sale for $1.50.  Spooky, sparkly, and not 'spensive. :D

Thanks for stopping by, and have a glittery day! <3

  1. Oooh I love both combos, especially the first! I'm always attracted to warm bold shades, so that coral orange + orange/gold glitters is just awesome possum! :D

    1. That first combo was sooo bold, yet so festive...really made you think of holiday parties of all sorts. <3

  2. Well, I think it's safe to say that we've both gotten over our aversion to the name, lol. I loooove Black Msgic and apparently so does everyone else in town because I didn't see that one when I went to Walgreens a couple weekends ago. Will check Rite Aid next :)

    1. Yeah...hmmm...I think we must have. Is that very bad of us? :/ I highly recommend Black Magic...the fine silver glitter makes it not your typical glitter topper, in my opinion... :)

  3. These are pretty! I always love the Halloween-themed polishes. But the name of the first one makes me want to go to Starbucks, hee hee!

  4. Gorgeous, gorgeous - both of them!!! I am with you with the split of the first more for Thanksgiving!! And I am one of the 0.3 % remembering Linoleum so well - and do you remember how slippery it could be right after polishing? And how shoes would squeak when you walked over it quickly? AND the horrid colors?

    1. Thank you Christine! <3 Haha..what?? You weren't in LOVE with avocado green?? But hey...if you polished it and ran across it with socks on, it was almost like skating!! :D

    2. Oh my, I have a VERY distinct memory of ACCIDENTALLY (the first time) getting Pledge or Endust on the kitchen linoleum and WHOA did we have to be careful walking across that spot with socks on for at least a few days! Then we would periodically do it as a prank, or for some indoor ice skating on a winter day. :) I think I was 10 at the time?

  5. What awesome photos! These are such fun Halloween polishes. I'm glad you are getting in the spirit. I am wearing a green PixieDust right now...nothing Halloween-y about it. I like how you threw in the accent nail! Have a great day!

    1. Why thank you dear. <3 Halloween polishes are some of my very favorites of all year round. And well...a green Pixie Dust could be sorta like the pumpkin stem?? :P

  8. "...some good ol' top coat perked up that shine just like Mop 'n' Glow did on your 1970's linoleum! :D Oh, I forget...like 99.7% of you all weren't even born then..." LOLOLOL!!! I am LMBO!! :D And your "spooky, sparkly, and not 'spensive" was a close second for favorite line of the post! :P
I must say I love the name of Pumpkin Spice since that's my all-time favorite kind of latte, but I've seen it in person and the red & gold glitter combo was just not me. :-/ Maybe if those reddish orange glitters were more decidedly orange? Hence why I LOVE Black Magic! That's a nice orange and steely grey! :D I sure hope I can find that one somewhere in these parts. :) Oh - and I am diggin' the reverse accent look on you, especially with these polishes. :) I tend to do that too, because as IF I want to wear an awesome indie on just ONE nail?! :O No siree! Although in my personal vocabulary, I call it an "anti-accent." ;) hehe

    1. "Anti-accent" is an EXCELLENT word. :) Black Magic is a really special polish...it absolutely looks more expensive that $1.99!! The tiny silver diamond-esque glitter makes the polish so pretty. And hey, I agree with the idea of wearing something beautiful on only one nail unpalatable! But I DID want to break it up a bit with these two because I didn't want to look Halloween Vegas...:P

    2. Why thank you!! :D I've been known to use a clever brain cell every now & then. Usually I save 'em for special occasions. ;)
I sure wish I had a Walgreens close by!! I need some of these fab Sinful Colors polishes you & Liesl keep showing. That Inkwell is to DIE for! ugh Can you just imagine it paired with some Black Magic, maybe as a glitter gradient?! :O
      Halloween Vegas...teehehee! :P
