Comparison Post: Attack of the Murky Greens!!

Hey everybody!  I hope your Saturday has been a fantastic one!

Earlier in the week, I did a post on Sinful Colors Classified.  It's one of those greens with a pretty serious identity crisis...it doesn't know if it wants to be green, or blue, or grey, or all of the above.  Some of my friends observed that Classified bore a resemblance to a couple of other colors out there, so I decided to do a comparison post for your enjoyment (and possibly helpful info...or maybe just curiosity?). :D

L to R:  butter LONDON Victoriana, Zoya Evvie, Sinful Colors Classified, China Glaze Elephant Walk

Who knew there were so many polishes in desperate need of therapy?  One has to wonder if these gals could even describe themselves if asked!  Let's see if we can get to the bottom of this mystery...

butter LONDON Victoriana

I finally snagged this one from my wishlist! :)  Victoriana is a dusty, more-blue-than-green color with a lovely foil-like shimmer and superb application.  Greasy bottle thumbprint not included in most versions.

Zoya Evvie

Evvie is definitely a green-grey color with only a very slight hint of blue.  As you can see, just my holding the bottle gives the whole photo a murky quality.  Evvie is a creme with a lovely application.

Sinful Colors Classified

You can read my entire (not so) Classified review here. :D  It's more blue-leaning than Evvie but not as much as Victoriana.  It's got a great creme formula with a remarkable price tag!

China Glaze Elephant Walk

I would say Elephant Walk is 50% green, 45% grey, and 5% blue.  This is one of those colors that looks different on the nail than in the bottle, and in a very good way.  I was surprised by this polish...it's a fantastic neutral with a gentle shimmer.  And that adds up to 100% gorgeous! :)

Now for some group shots!  And yes, Midget Pinky is fully aware that she looks ridiculous.  She'll be needing therapy too...

My final thoughts:  these are all four clearly not replicas (no, I will NOT use that annoying word) of each other, even though they have that same murky quality about them.  All four formulas are very good...it's just a matter of whether you like a foil, a creme, or a shimmer application best. :)  I really love all the colors and find that swamptastic shades like these look pretty good on me.  I think? :)

What do you think?  Which of these is your favorite?

Thanks for stopping by, and have a lovely day! <3

  1. Must have ALL the murky greens! This is definitely one of my favorite color groups. If you had to pick one of those four as a MUSTHAVERIGHTNOW regardless of price point, which would you pick?

    1. I would say it's a toss-up between Victoriana and Elephant Walk. They are both beautiful...now on to price tag: I got Elephant Walk on the clearance shelf at Sally!! :D

    1. I think so too. I was asking Mom which she liked best, and she said the other two (darker ones) were her favorites. So I guess that means there's enough murky greens for everybody! ;)

  3. Dear lord... I don't think I own any murky greens! What is wrong with me and why haven't I ran into any of these???? They are all gorgeous! Classified and Victoriana are my favorites. Ahhh... I laughed too hard reading your post, too funny! :)

    1. I didn't get into the Realm of Murky Greendom until later in my collecting career. Colors like those used to scare me, LOL! Now my mantra is the more unusual, the better! :D

  4. My Butters always come with greasy bottle thumbprint, lol. You crack me up ♥ And if it makes midget pinkie feel any better, I think she's perfectly normal. I went through grade and high school with a dude whose pinkies were seriously teeny so believe me when I say that your pinkie's insecurity is misplaced and that she's quite alright.

I love Evvie. In fact, I wore it for a good part of last week with a gold topper accent and I loved it so much I"m ready to do a big swatchfest just so I can sport that look some more. And yes, they all do look swamptastic on ya :D

    1. Did you pay extra for your thumbprint?? :P My biggest problem with Midget Pinky is actually not her diminutive size but the fact that she is curved inward from arthritis...hence my difficulty holding on to certain bottles. :/ And Evvie...I have to say that's a crazy unusual color...I like it because of that...but you have to wonder who thinks up these things?? ;) You'll have to do something on Evvie! I bet it looks lovely on you. <3

    2. I posted about Evvie when it first came out (it was one of my must-haves from last fall). I had no lightbox and it was raining but the show had to go on so I've got it swatched with little droplets of rain on my nails, lol. I'd totally do another post on it, with the topper, but said topper is Oy and I'm just not sure how much more anyone wants to see my little layering adventures with that one, lol.
