Nail of the Day: China Glaze Get Carried Away

Hey everybody!  I hope your Sunday has been great.  Today for church I wore a black, red and white dress.  You all know how I insist on matching my nails to my clothing...well, I found the perfect polish for the occasion. :)  And it just happened to be an untried!  This one is China Glaze Get Carried Away, from the very lovely Cirque du Soleil Collection.

Get Carried Away is a sheer black jelly filled with large red and silver hex glitter, tiny silver glitter, and black bar glitter.  The bar glitter is a bit strange...it's so tiny that it's almost got the consistency of fibers.  So if you hate bar glitter, this might not bug you too badly. :)

I love polishes with tiny black or tiny silver glitter, because it looks like salt and/or pepper.  Nuts, I know.  Why do I like the look of salt and pepper on my nails?  I don't know??  A snack for later, perhaps? :D

When the Cirque du Soleil Collection came out late last year, I really liked it a lot.  Get Carried Away has an indie-ish look about it.  I layered one coat of Get Carried Away over one coat of black, and there's plenty of sparkle to spare! :D

Oh, and never mind the tip wear.  After all, I'd had this on for a few HOURS.  Just keep in mind it won't look like this on a normal person. :)

Do you have any polishes from the China Glaze Cirque du Soleil Collection?  If you're looking for a classy kind of bling, then Get Carried Away might just...uh...carry you away?

Thanks for stopping by, and have a lovely evening! :)

  1. This looks so lovely on you! And I have several of these... this one, It's a Trap-eze, Water You Waiting For, and Running in Circles.... have to say, Running in Circles is my favorite China Glaze green.

    1. You just named my 4 favorites from the collection! As a matter of fact, if you read that post I did about my husband picking out my polish, one of his choices was It's a Trap-eze, which amazed me! Running in Circles reminds me of Zoya Ivanka, but a little apple greener. I think Get Carried Away is really elegant. :)

  2. Yeah, this collection had some pretty polishes. This one looks great on you!

I paint my nails to match my clothes too! Well, sometimes it's more like dressing to match a polish. LOL. Glad to know someone else does it too.

    1. Why thank you! :) You know, IF I don't match my nails to my clothing, it bugs me to no end. I was taking pics really late one night last week and got too sleepy to change my polish for the next day, and I went to work with unmatched nails, and it bothered me quite a bit. I'm fortunate that I can wear anything I want to the office, because matching everything makes it all look pulled together. :)

  5. You do wear the darks well! This is gorgeous on you. I love Christine's description-- elegantly goth. There's something very autumn about this, too.

    1. Thank you! And I agree...it does look like autumn. I'm finding myself wanting to pull out the vampy shades these days. No wait...that's every day. :D

  6. This is such a cute polish! Shame about the tip wear :( I hate it when polishes do that x

    1. Thanks Raisa! Oh, I pointed that out specifically because one of my idiosyncrasies is getting tip wear within 2 hours, no matter what I wear. I am pretty sure that isn't normal. :D

  7. This is a really fun polish! The Cirque collection really surprised me in a good way. It was fun to see a mainstream company put out more funky polishes. :)

    1. I agree...and while sometimes a very glittery polish seems like all fun and whimsy, this one is a very classy look. :)

  8. Dark and fascinating! It looks great on you! Hmm, now that you mention the accent of "salt and pepper," I'm craving sea salt and cracked pepper chips... Yummy. :)
