Vintage Barielle for Autumn: Putt-E On Me and Lava Rock

Hey everybody!  This morning it actually sort of felt like fall outside.  However, that didn't stop me from experiencing my standard personal sweating attack within a couple of hours.  Blast you, hot flashes.  Oh well...that doesn't alter the fact that it actually IS fall. :)  And when you know it IS fall, you just want to wear some fall colors!  Today I have a couple of Barielle polishes from the 2009 All Lacquered Up collection that I just recently purchased and discovered with much delight are thoroughly autumnal.

First up is Putt-E On Me, a beautiful, shiny creme.

Let me first say that I purchased both polishes I'm showing today at TJ Maxx in a variety box of 5 for $7.99. I love Barielle polishes, mostly because you can almost always find a crazy strange one in your box.   Putt-E On Me is said crazy strange one.

When I saw the bottle and read the name, I thought it was probably like your standard greige on the nail...you know, some harmlessly uninteresting putty color.  Wow, was I wrong!  I don't know if it's my skin tone, but this lovely creme has undertones of smoky mulberry.  I love this polish!

Putt-E On Me is definitely a greige-ish neutral, but it's so much more interesting on that you think it will be.  I used 2 coats for the photos, which do not show just how shiny this polish is.  Very, very pretty and versatile.

Another obviously autumn polish from my superbly priced Barielle set is Lava Rock.

Well, you don't have to be a neurosurgeon to know that I fell in love with this one too.  Lava Rock is a dark, vampy, blackened plum with a red shimmer.  It reminds me of OPI Every Month Is Oktoberfest.

The bottle shot looks like there is blue in the shimmer too, but I looked and looked under a bright light, and I couldn't see the blue.  I suppose the polish gremlins were playing a trick on me. :D  I used two coats for the photos.

Even if the blue shimmer was merely in my head, the red shimmer is blatantly there.  There is also an almost duochrome look about Lava Rock.  This polish apparently thinks it's funny to fool the eye. :P  No matter, you sly little jester...you're still delectable!

I love both these Barielle fall colors.  Barielle polishes can be purchased on their website.  They sell for $8 each and your second one is $4.  And of course, you can always go stalking your local TJ Maxx and Marshall's for great deals on Barielle multi-packs. :)

What's your favorite autumn nail color?

Thanks for stopping by, and have a lovely day! :)

  1. I'm in love with both! I love how Putt-E On Me has a purplish tone to it. It looks nothing like the bottle on your nails! I love polish chameleons like that!!! It also looks like a perfect base for a fun glitter topper too! Aaah Lava Rock. I can see a bit of the blueish shimmer in the one pic you have so it's not just you! I never go to TJ Maxx or Marshalls but now I know that they have awesome vintage nail candy I will have to check them out!

Favorite autumn nail color? You can never go wrong with a vampy cranberry or a shimmery dark pumpkin ;-)

    1. Yes, you need to go visit those stores...in addition to the markdown CHI hair stuff I get there, they almost always have Barielle or Color Club in entire collections. <3 Putt-E On Me was a big surprise, and a pleasant one at that. :) And vampy anything is good...unless it's vampy orange. :P

  2. I'm not sure how your words manage to be prettier than your swatches but you had me at smoky mulberry <3 And of course Lava Rock is perfection.... I have such a crush on blackened plums right now :) How come my Marshall's never has anything good? Lool.

    1. Awww, aren't you the sweetest? <3 My crush on blackened plums turned into a slobbering romance eons ago. Aw, I hate it that your Marshall's isn't cooperative! I love Barielle boxes...on my last trip to TJ Maxx, I bet they had 12 or 15 of them.

  4. I LOVE the "uninteresting putty color"! I don't know what it is, but purple/greige nails are my favorite!

    1. Haha...I like greige too...it's just a lot more interesting if it's got purple-ish something thrown in for good measure. :D

  5. Thank you sweet Melissa of reminding me of Barielle!!! They do have some pretty edgy stuff and I admittedly forgot about them next to all those terrific Indies!!! And both of the polishes you showed are just perfect on you :-)!!!!

    1. You are so diplomatic...I should be using the word "edgy" rather than "crazy." :D But you know me...I am always attracted to bizarre polishes. And all the indies you feature. :P

  6. These are both great shades. I love fall, too, though I am still stuck wearing summer brights. I love those Barielle boxes, too. I think people mix them up so there are totally weird mixes sometimes.

    1. I know it! I have found them before when they had 2 of the same color...once I found the Sweet Treats collection, and not a single one was a Sweet Treats polish. :/

  7. I'm glad fall finally reached you and you're getting some cooler temps. It's full on fall over here... nothing but rain and wind and gloom. Lava Rock is so pretty... I love the shimmers in there. :)

    1. Well, when I say it kinda felt like fall, that meant 61 in the morning and 82 for a high, LOL...so I'm good and jealous of you! :) Lava Rock is really nice too!
