In my opinion, China Glaze Dress Me Up was the real standout of that collection.

Dress Me Up is what I call "my kind of neutral." I can't wear cream-colored polish, and most neutrals look dreadful on me. Since my hands are white, I need something with a neutral feel but a bit darker, and Dress Me Up fits the bill perfectly. And it just so happens that I love to dress up. :) Heh heh...

For my accent and thumb nails, I used a coat of China Glaze Luxe and Lush, also from the Capitol Colours Collection. It's a gorgeous, fiery flakie topcoat that I have worn numerous times in a little thing called a jelly sandwich.

The formula on Dress Me Up is so surprising...it's a creme, but oddly enough, I have no problems with it at all. Cremes would have to be my least favorite polishes because I always make a hearty mess out of them. Dress Me Up applies so well that I have no cleanup. Amazing!!
The color of Dress Me Up is very unusual too. Are any of you familiar with rose-flavored foods? I LOVE rose-flavored foods, especially rose Turkish Delight. Well, I would describe the color of Dress Me Up as rose-flavored cocoa. Oh my WORD that sounds delicious!!
The Capital Colours Collection was a good one. I have 2 more polishes from it, and they're beautiful as well. But Dress Me Up is still my favorite because I love, love, LOVE the rosy oddness of it.
What's your favorite neutral? :)
Thanks for stopping by, and have a lovely Friday!
Hi Melissa, Dress Me Up is perfect on you!!! And that flakie is gorgeous :-)!!! I also got myself some polishes from the Hunger Games Collection but somehow my skin tone doesn't like my choices - oh well... Your phrasing to call Dress Me Up rose-infused is spot on :-)!!! As to my favorite: currently that would be Cult Nails Let's Get DirtyReplyDelete
Oh thank you Christine! :) I do love it with my white skin. I tend to really love colors that are hard to explain. And Let's Get Dirty looks beautiful! :)Delete
I have this color and its a great neutral to wear! Looks lovely on you :)ReplyDelete
Thank you! :) I really love it a lot.Delete
Dress Me Up looks gorgeous! It reminds me of hot chocolate drinks :) The topper looks amazing too xReplyDelete
Yum...yes it does. Rosy cocoa. Somebody should invent that! :DDelete
I completely agree - I always loved this one from the collection. For some reason, I never picked it up though. I always thought I had something similar. I didn't know the next Hunger Games was coming out!? When? I never see previews because I don't watch commercials. OMG, I can't wait. I loved the books and was surprised how well I liked the movie. I normally don't like movies as much as the books. Have you seen Great Gatsby yet??????ReplyDelete
LOL...no. I will have to Netflix that one. I should say that I very seldom go to movies, maybe twice a year? But YES...Catching Fire is coming out in November. :D It was my favorite book of the trilogy too. And Dress Me Up is still out there on Amazon (where I got mine)...I would love to see how it looked on you. :)Delete
That's such a lovely neutral on you! :) I love that it's got the rosy tint to it... makes it more interesting than just your standard neutral. :)ReplyDelete
Thank you! A little pink can change the whole look of something. ;)Delete
omg i am a total sucker for any kind of movie tie-in as well. i love it when they have movie/tv/book collections. i bought the whole hunger games collection when it came out.ReplyDelete
That was a great collection. I have Harvest Moon (gorgeous!!) and Smoke and Ashes (awesome!!). But I'd have to say my favorite movie collection was The Muppets. :)Delete
