To all my fellow bloggers, don't ever think that what you write about a polish falls on deaf monitors. Your readers really do listen to you. I've read a few reviews for Julie G Shark's Cove recently, and that polish just kept speaking to me...but it wasn't until Thuy at The Painted Ninja posted a review and then just point-blank told me I needed to go visit my local Rite Aid and pick one up for myself that I did. See for yourself...it's right there in the comments. I listened to her. Ladies, you ARE being heard. ;)

Shark's Cove is a blue-leaning mint with a not-so-subtle silver shimmer. This polish is so shimmery gorgeous that it almost looks metallic. This is just a stunning color.

The formula on Shark's Cove was very good and smooth and the type that is practically klutz-proof (my favorite). I did experience a long dry time, but like I have said in previous posts, I think that's due to the insane humidity we're having. I used 3 thin coats. And, per my usual, I had some visible nail line even after 3 coats! Grrrr. But no problem! Enter Julie G Rock Candy, from the Frosted Gumdrops Collection.

Have you done anything interesting lately with your textured polishes? I mean, you know, besides wearing them and getting tons of compliments? ;) Julie G polishes are available at Rite Aid or at Jesse's Girl Cosmetics. They are a very affordable polish brand that wears well.
Thanks for stopping by...have a lovely Wednesday! :)
I really like this mint with shimmer! It's so pretty. I love the french tips you added! It gives it the perfect amount of sparkle. ;D
ReplyDeleteThank you! :) I hadn't intended to combine them, but I was looking at them together and thought "Hmmmmm...:
DeleteHi Melissa, great post, beautiful pictures, gorgeous polish!!! And sure readers listen to Bloggers (Continually Smoldering - winky-wink :-D). Your French Tips look great. And this textured polish looks awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Christine! :) Ah yes...Continually Smoldering DID influence you. And all the time, you had no idea whatsoever I was sending you subliminal messages!! :D This is a nice texture...it's very glittery, which I love. <3
DeleteSo pretty! I love how shimmers summerify these early spring mint greens. And how did you get your tips so perfect?! These two really are icy gorgeous together :)
ReplyDeleteWell...I got my tips so perfect because I used the old French tip guides! Trying to do that myself would have been disastrous. I can't walk in a straight line half the time. Oooh, icy gorgeous...I like that! :D
DeleteThis is pretty! I love the french tips you did :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Miss Lisa! :) I could pretty much keep my nails this color 87% of the time. :D

ReplyDeleteThank you Miss Raisa! :) It does look icy...I'm already getting ideas for winter combos...hmmm... ;)
DeleteThuy actually sent this to me and I love it! I have worn it a couple times, just haven't shown it on the blog yet. It's a great polish:) I don't have Rite Aids near me, so it was so nice of her to send me a few :)
ReplyDeleteReally? That's crazy!! I think Julie G polishes are great...and so inexpensive, which is a nice alternative. :P

LOL...out of control, huh? Hey, at least your honest. Mine is too, but I have a hard time admitting it! Yes, your review sent me marching to pick this one up, so thanks, because I really love it! :) And you're right...I have lots and LOTS of mint/aqua-ish colors, but I don't have anything else like Shark's Cove.
