Here are some of my favorite zoo pics from over the years:
Flamingos and a good hair day! |
I got lucky and he actually woke up! |
I remember waiting a while for this. |
I am convinced that Gollum was modeled after the bonobo. Seriously. |
A very friendly Galapagos tortoise...he approached me for his portrait. :D |
My family loves pets. We are mainly dog lovers, but I also have fish and hamsters. :D Here are some of my favorite pet pics:
My sweet Bichon Frise Sebastian. He was missing the black pigmentation of a Bichon, and his pink coloring made his beautiful little face sort of human-looking. |
My challenging Pomeagle (Pomeranian/Beagle) Sasha. She has a bit of an underbite, but she's smarter than a whip. |
My sister's Portuguese Water Dog Dexter. This picture got 234 views on Flickr the day the White House announced they were getting a Portie. |
What a sweet girl she was. |
Weezy loved a good musical. |
Heheheheh... |
Thanks for stopping by, and have a lovely evening! :)
Your really good! There pictures are so cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lisa! That's a great compliment coming from such an artiste as yourself. ;)
DeleteAbsolutely fantastic shots Mel! I love taking photos of animals :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Em! What is it about animals? I mean...they're so unpredictable! LOL!
DeleteAww, these pictures are really cute! You're amazing at these pictures!
ReplyDeleteThank you Miss Clare! ;) The main reason I got my last camera was to take animal pics...I had no idea I'd be taking pics of nails!!
DeleteI love Weezy - she is so cute! :D
ReplyDeleteThank you! She was indeed a lovely girl...and so tiny too. :)
DeleteHi Melissa, thank you very much for sharing those beautiful pictures and letting us have a sneak peak into your life!!! I enjoyed your post SOOOO much :-)!!! I bow my head to your photographic talent, what a great eye for motives you have. While I have a cat now, I grew up with dogs and know what great friends they are. And then there is Weezy - just utterly cute <3!!!
ReplyDeleteAww thanks Christine! :) I have never had a cat, but I love the pics you post of yours! My beautiful Sebastian recently passed away, and I miss him so much. And little Weezy was kinda famous on the world wide web for her 3 short years! :)
DeleteI love your photographs as I love animals. The dogs are sooo cute :) x
ReplyDeleteThank you Raisa! My sweet Sebastian passed away in March, and looking at his pictures still makes me cry. :'(
DeleteOh my goodness gracious! What beautiful pictures!!! Ok, in addition to writing a novel, you need to publish a book with all of your animal photography! You have a lot of work to do girlie ;)
ReplyDelete:) Thank you Essie. What a sweet thing to say! ;) I never figured nail polish bottles would take the spotlight over Monkey Island, LOL...
DeleteLol they are so hard to capture sometimes! We had a kookaburra in the backyard the other day and could I photograph it? NO! Bloody thing flew away and jumped all over the back lawn! A koala did the same thing, moved from tree to tree and each shot was blurry! Such a pain but the best things to photograph when you get a good shot! Your koala pic is FANTASTIC! x x
ReplyDeleteWOW! That's so crazy...a koala in your back yard! I live in the woods, and we have all sorts of wildlife here, but of course it's American wildlife, LOL. That koala lives in a South Carolina zoo and had recently had a little baby. The amazing part was that I happened to be there the 6 minutes it wakes up during the day, hahaha...
DeleteAwww! Weezy is just too adorable and so photogenic! :)

Thank you! :) I loved that little hammy. She never even tried to run away while I had her under those bright lights. :)
