Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Mermaid's Tale |
Mermaid's Tale is a lovely blackened blue jelly packed with large navy blue and bright green hexes and blue micro glitter. You always get a ton of glitter with each dip into the bottle. YAY!! This polish applies pretty well...it's just a tiny bit thick for me, but adding thinner would easily eradicate any problems.
Sally Hansen Mermaid's Tale |
For the photos, I applied 2 coats of Mermaid's Tale over Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Black Diamond. I use Black Diamond a lot for layering because it's sort of like black "lite" (not black light, so no glow in the dark puff paint is needed)...more of a charcoal color.
Avast, mates! That mermaid be SPARKLY!! |
I read that Mermaid's Tale is now a part of the permanent line of Sally Hansen CSM, which is a bit surprising because it's always the cool colors like this one that are part of a limited edition and vanish quickly. :) Am I not right??
What sailor wouldn't risk his life to get a closer look at this?? |
What is it about mermaid nails that we all find so very captivating? Is it the mysterious nature of the mythical mermaid? Is it a general love of seafood? Or is it just because we love blue and green glitter?? Umm...I think I just answered my own question...
Sally Hansen polishes can be purchased just about anywhere...I got mine at Ulta because I live there. :)
I have suffered a pretty nasty nail casualty that has wiped out 80% of my nails in one fell swoop...but I'm hoping to be back again with you very soon! Take care and thanks for stopping by! :)
Pretty mermaid glitter! I like :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Miss Lisa! I like too! :)
DeleteI am not normally one for glitter polishes, I always seem to have problems with them LOL but this one is fantastic! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks! This one isn't very problematic...but they certainly can be. :(
DeleteI love blue and green glitter. I tried it over grey a while back and loved it! This is a beautiful manicure. And yes, "mermaid's tail" sounds way better than "fish fingers" hehe.
ReplyDeleteI remember your saying you did a lot of layering with gray, and I think that's a great idea. And I personally think one cannot go wrong with blue and green. :D
DeleteThis is so pretty! It looks like an indie polish, which is awesome! I love it and I love your swatch/photos! And it doesn't look like food of any sort! lol
ReplyDeleteYes, it does look like an indie. That's why I'm surprised it's going to be in the SH regular lineup. What? No food? Wow...you're right! :P
DeleteBlue AND green glitter?!?! I want and need!
ReplyDeleteYes...YES...you most certainly do, Miss Clare!! :)
DeleteHi Melissa, I love Mermaids Tale on you and I forgot, you are so right - a charcoal base might just do so much more for this kind of glitters. As for my love for Mermaids - I was already as a kid WAY more into Mermaids than Princesses, so I actually never gave this a second thought ;-)! And great post!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine! :) Maybe your much closer proximity to the Copenhagen Little Mermaid accounts for your being waaaayyyy ahead of everybody else in loving mermaids. ;)
DeleteHehe you're totally right... I also love anything with "mermaid" in it. All those greens and blues in sparkly tones are just amazing, this one included! :)
ReplyDelete~ Yun
Thanks, Yun! :) Ah yes, those mermaids...they suck us in with their sparkly polishes just like they lure all those poor sailors to their dooms!!
DeletePrettttttttttty. :) I definitely need to pick this one up!
ReplyDeleteThanks! But of course you need this!! ,)
