My Name Is Melissa, and I'm Addicted to Jellies: L'Oreal Berry Nice

Hey everybody!  Jellies...I love 'em.  I'm drawn to a jelly as if my name was Skippy.  I love their squishy appearance, their glitter combo versatility, and their extremely forgiving application.  I was really excited when L'Oreal Paris came out with the Miss Candy jelly collection this year.  I finally picked one up over the weekend, and I wasn't disappointed! :)

(By the way, my dog Sasha isn't much for taking pictures, but I believe she made certain that one of her white hairs showed up in every shot. :/)

L'Oreal Paris Berry Nice

The Miss Candy polish I chose from the collection was the very non-pastel Berry Nice.  I know, you're amazed I didn't pick up something pink...I was strong and resisted. :)  In the bottle, Berry Nice looks very dark, almost black.  On the nail, it's a scrumptious blackberry/grape hue.  I decided to make a jelly sandwich with China Glaze Glitter All the Way, which is a purple, gold, green, and red glitter.

L'Oreal Paris Berry Nice with China Glaze Glitter All the Way

I used three coats of Berry Nice, one coat of Glitter All the Way, and one more coat of Berry Nice.  Berry Nice is extremely sheer, but I didn't mind using 4 coats, as they dried pretty quickly.

Hi, Sasha!!  :)

And a word about China Glaze Glitter All the Way...this polish is from the 2012 Holiday Joy collection and was actually one of my untrieds.   I knew it would be a perfect glitter for this jelly sandwich.  The application is wonderful...not thick or runny and with a great glitter payoff in one coat.

I NEVER get tired of a jelly sandwich.  They offer all the sweetness without all those pesky calories.  The ONLY thing about jellies that bugs me is how they never, ever cover my tips.  But it's not very visible in real life, so if that's the only bad thing about a jelly, I'm not complaining. :)

Guilt-free sweetness!

L'Oreal Berry Nice is a true royal purple.  China Glaze Glitter All the Way is Mardi Gras in a bottle.  So put 'em together and you have:  Royals Behaving Badly??

Thanks for stopping by, and have a lovely day! :)

  5. Great minds think alike! I definitely used Barry Nice and Glitter All the Way in a sandwich like two weeks ago (a different kind though). Makes me all warm and fuzzy to know that I share the same thought process with the great Melissa :) That shade of purple looks lovely on ya! And we all know grape is the best jelly anyways...

  6. LOVE IT!!!! :D And I've also become obsessed with jellies as of late, which is odd, because usually it's a turn-off if someone says a polish takes more than 2 coats. :P But I just wore somewhere in the ballpark of 5 coats of Shell-O (new ChG summer neons collex) and was OVER THE MOON about it! Look for it soon on my blog. ;) ...Like, hopefully later tonight...but that's yet to be seen as it's a dedication post, and I wanna say it right. :-)
P.S. Where did you find these Miss Candy jellies? My stinkin' Wal-Mart takes years to get new stuff in, I swear!

    1. Oh good...I can't wait to see it! That is a lovely one. I found these at Rite Aid...my Wal-Mart gets NOTHING. I have been looking for the Gumdrops by Nicole by OPI for 2 months, and I finally found them out of state over the weekend. My local Wal-Mart never even started carrying the Hard Candy polishes...had to find those out of town...in a SMALLER town, no less.

  7. Berry Nice is so niiiiiiiiiice! :D Super pretty with the glitter you chose. They are perfect together, makes me want to make my own sammich with my one rainbow glitter, lol. And yeah, fur in the photos is pretty much inevitable if you've got one of those babies. One of our cats likes to sit in my lightbox on occasion, and I let her, because she's really cute and I'm a pushover. ;p

    1. Thank you! :) I think I'm getting more and more glitter because I'm sorta used to the painful removal now. IN your lightbox? Wow...you are a pushover. But cute pretty much trumps everything. :D

  10. Hi Melissa, what a great post, loved it from first to last word, beautiful photos, and your Jelly Sandwich looks awesome on you!!! I also have this issue with the tips and - if I remember - do a tip covering round just before applying the second coat. Your mani floors me, sorry I am short of any further witty comments - just BEAUTIFUL <3

    1. Awww thanks Christine! <3 Unfortunately, wrapping tips does no good on my strange nails. I have some serious issues. :/ Polish doesn't stay on my nails well at all...I can't get more than a few hours' wear without a chip. I have oily nail beds and my nails peel easily. But hey, I keep trying!! :D
