Emerald & Ash Armed Forces Collection: Goes Rolling Along

*Polish purchased by me*

Hey everybody!  I am super excited today to show you the first of five Armed Forces Collection polishes from new indie company Emerald & Ash.  Today's feature is Goes Rolling Along, representative of the United States Army.

"First to fight for the right,
And to build the Nation’s might,
And The Army Goes Rolling Along."

Emerald & Ash Goes Rolling Along

Goes Rolling Along is black and gold (the same as the Army's official logo) glitters in a clear base.  There are tiny hexes, larger hexes, squares, and bar glitter.  And bar glitter being bar glitter, some of them stuck up on the nail and some didn't.  Emerald & Ash's website states that since production, they have been made aware of bar glitter issues on some, but not all, of these polishes and are working to resolve the problem.  It's not a big deal to me...just take some clippers and snip the offending pieces and cover with top coat. :)  The gold squares are reflective but lie flat on the nail.

Emerald & Ash Goes Rolling Along

I used 1 coat of Goes Rolling Along over 2 coats of Layla Ceramic Effect 32 (Gold Shimmer).  Gold Shimmer is a very sheer polish, but I just wanted a wash of gold to show off all the pretty black glitter.  I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Black Out on my accent nails.  Goes Rolling Along's formula was a little thick, but I only needed 1 good dab to cover each nail. :)

My VNL wasn't this visible in person.  Like I've said before, I could use multiple coats of any color and still have it.  Grrrr...

For every polish sold from the collection, Emerald & Ash is donating $1 to the USO. :)  And I LOVE the whole idea of an Armed Forces Collection.  Love it...so clever!  I can't wait to show you the whole collection. :)

What do you think of Goes Rolling Along?  I love black and gold.  It's just so elegant.  Emerald & Ash polishes can be purchased on their website and on Etsy.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a lovely evening! :)

  1. I love trying out new polish brands! I really like how you layered it over black. I looked at their shop and I think my favorite is "Deconstructed Daisy." :)
