L'Oreal Collection Privee Nudes: Frieda's Nude and Doutzen's Nude

Hey everybody!  I hope your week is going fantastically well. :)

Sooo...we all know Zoya has everybody in love with their Naturel collection.  But did you know that L'Oreal has come out with a limited edition Collection Privee of nudes as well?  I decided to give a couple of them a try!  I picked up Frieda's Nude and Doutzen's Nude at Rite Aid for buy one, get one half off. ;)

As with most times I polish shop at Rite Aid, my hubby was with me.  He absolutely turned his nose up at nude/natural shades.  You see, there was no red in the display, and that was just plain unacceptable. :)  But he did tell me that Frieda's Nude was "the only one that looked halfway decent", so I took that as his endorsement to pick it up.

Frieda's Nude is a beige-gold shimmer that leans frosty...the brushstrokes weren't too terrible though.  The polish applied pretty well, and I had no cleanup issues.  I'm wearing 3 coats in the photos.

This polish would look dated if not for the very strong shimmer, which is beautiful.

And before I show you Doutzen's Nude, which was my pick of the collection, I must tell you that I had just gone outside and picked ice off the central unit (during our wintry weather) and came in and stupidly took pics.  So my hands were just getting warm and look like balls of flame. :/

Doutzen's Nude is a mauve-tinged creme that is really lovely.  I did have some streaking issues with two coats, but a third one evened it all out.

The above photo is the best representation of the color of Doutzen's Nude...so ignore my lobster flambé phalanges and enjoy the lovely color. :D  I really loved wearing this one.

So...what do you think of L'Oreal's nudes?  There are 6 shades in the collection, some coral/rose-tinged, some yellow-hued.  I haven't gotten a Zoya Naturel yet, so I don't know how the formula would compare.  Oh, and I have no idea who Frieda and Doutzen are.  So there it is. :D

I don't know...COULD red be considered a nude?  I mean...look at my hands!! :P

Thanks for stopping by, and have a lovely day! <3

  1. Both are nice neutral nude shades! I'm really liking that metallic one a lot though :)

    1. I love metallics with shimmer. This gold is also an interesting shade...not very common...there's something in it that's a bit different. Or maybe I'm sleepy. :P

  2. So I take it your hubby is a red man? I will have to check these out next time I'm at my Rite Aid. I wasn't a fan of the Zoya Naturel collection but these are pretty!! I'm not big on frosty polishes but Frieda is pretty nonetheless and looks beautiful on you as well as Doutzen, lobster hands or not :-P

    1. Oh yes...it's red or nothing! :) Every time we go shopping and I ask his opinion, it's always red. Always. You need to checks these out...you might like Julianne's Nude...it's kind of coral-pink, and I could see it on you. :)

  3. LOLOL!! No, sweets, red is not a nude and your hands don't look as crustacean as you think ;) I do like both these and I think that between the two of you, you picked the prettiest of the bunch! So Freida Pinto (I think) is an actress who starred in Slumdog Millionaire, Best Picture Oscar winner from a few years back, and Doutzen Kroues (again, I think, lol) is a Victoria's Secret model. :)

    1. Thanks for the info. I don't like celebrities. But I like these polishes!! :D You know, I could have looked all that up, but I lacked the interest, LOLOL. I'm glad you like these two...Brian was really hilarious in the way he did NOT approve of neutrals. I wish that Frieda's was a *smidgen* less frosty, but the shimmer is fantastic. <3

    2. I don't like them, either, and I'm always embarrassed to know who is who :/ I blame it on the beauty magazines I read (though Slumdog was a really good movie).

    1. You and me both. The gold is a bit unusual too...just *slightly* pinky-beige.

  5. I just love Doutzen! Perfect mannequin hands :-)! And while the shade of Frieda is very pretty the shimmer catapults it way out of the neutral territory into glam-me up heights! Oh and to me red IS a neutral - not THE color but its every day all time approprietness, elegance, vampiness xxx

    1. You know something? That's the way I feel about purple. If I don't know what I'm wearing the next day, I will usually wear purple polish. I just think purple is a lovely neutral. And I love Doutzen's too! <3

    2. Well, when you put it that way... :)

  6. Frieda's Nude reminds me of Orly's Rage, although I'd say Rage is more pink. In Doutzen, I think we have a dupe of one of Zoya's Naturels. That's cute about your hubby loving red. I'm the opposite! I can't handle red at all. In fact I recently sold a car I bought on a whim, because it was red!

    1. I agree with you 100%. Rage is a rose gold, and while Frieda's IS something a bit different, it's not rose gold. And I think Doutzen's looks like Zoya Rue. :) LOLOL...can't handle red, huh? I've never liked red cars. I love red polish though. <3

  7. The mauve is gorgeous. It reminds me of one of my favorites...OPI Tickle My France-y. Also, Essie Lady Like. I really love wearing that shade on my nails. Thanks for sharing!
