I have seen comparisons of Orly Rococo-A-Go-Go to Zoya Jem, and the two do look very similar. I don't own Jem, but from the pictures of it, Rococo-A-Go-Go has more shimmer. YAY for shimmer! There is a lot of sparkly, glass fleck action going on in this one. Rococo-A-Go-Go is a red, plummy purple .
Orly Rococo-A-Go-Go is from the 2011 Mineral FX collection, which was insanely beautiful all the way around. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't mind having more from that collection. :P The application was pretty easy on Rococo-A-Go-Go, and the polish dried quickly on me (imagine that!). I used two coats. The only negative thing I can say about it is I had crazy tip wear...but lately, *every**single**polish* I wear has awful tip wear! I blame it on the pollen.
You just can't go wrong with pearls and shimmer. |
So, what do you think of this lovely purple? I'm so glad Jessica pointed this one out to me. Nothing like have readers who enable your addiction! :P
Thanks for stopping by, and have a lovely day! <3
Its a nice purple! I quite like it too.
ReplyDeleteVery nice indeed...and thank you! :)
DeleteNot only is this a perfect Melissa shade (I think the Orly formula even excels the one from Zoya) but also the name is so Melissa, Roccoco with a drive and a vibe - this is you, right? Orly is one of those brands that globally gets neglected I find. In my experience their concept and formula is far better than Opi, Essie or China Glaze... Of course the one and only Sally hansen cannot be mentioned in that sentence ;-) - have a wonderful Friday xxx
ReplyDeleteYou're right about Orly being neglected...but WHY?? I don't get it. They have really come out with some fantastic stuff here lately (I recently brought home 3 of the Galaxy FX!!), and I can't remember ever having a bad formula. :/
DeleteI love this polish - it's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'm usually not a huge fan of red-based purples, but this one is really lovely! <3
DeleteI love that Mineral FX collection from Orly too, I want all of them! This beautiful purple looks mahvelous on you, dahling!
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you! Oh...I *shall* be on the lookout for more Mineral FX offerings! :D
DeleteI love that you love Orlys. It's not a brand that jumps out at me so it's fun seeing your new loves and discoveries. I think part of the neglect you and Christine were speaking of comes from the fact that they're not really blogger friendly. Never underestimate the power of a gal with a macro lens, lol :) This is gorgeous on you!
ReplyDeleteThank you! <3 I guess it doesn't matter to me if they aren't blogger friendly, since I don't get stuff anyway. :P And I like doing posts on things you don't see very often, you know? But this is seriously a beautiful purple. :)
DeleteWhat I mean is, no one is sent samples so there's no buzz about this brand (as opposed to Zoya and OPI). You go to google swatches and next to nothing comes up. But I totally agree on posting about stuff that's not really out there. It's like you've discovered something for yourself.
