Sally Hansen Triple Shine: Red Snapper and Wavy Blue

Hey everybody!  How is Monday going for you so far?  Mine is going well, and I'm eating Olive Garden leftovers as I type this, so that makes it even better. :D  Today I am finally posting about a couple of Sally Hansen Triple Shine polishes I purchased a couple of months ago.  I was pretty excited to see the Triple Shine line come out, because there are so many colors and finishes going on there.   And well, everybody loves shiny!  Except for the ones who love matte...then I am afraid I can't help you there...

Guess who picked out Red Snapper for me?  Yes!!  My hubby. :)  A combination of the color and the name of a fish had him sold.

Red Snapper is a warm-toned, VERY bright, orange-red crelly.  It's also more watery than my eyes in a field of ragweed.  I was having trouble with this formula going everywhere. :/  I'd pick up just a little on my brush (or so I thought) and then out of nowhere, this enormous drip would rain down and create a cuticle moat.  But it is very shiny, as you can see! :)  I used 3 coats.

Of course, you all know that if my hubby picked out a red, then I naturally had to go for blue. :)  I chose a beautiful royal blue shimmer called Wavy Blue.

The formula on Wavy Blue was much friendlier to me and my preschool painting skills.  This one refused to mess up, which I loved.  The shimmer in this one is really outstanding.  I used 3 coats, but as you can see, I still have Mr. VaNeLi stalking me.  Blast.

Something I have noticed about the Triple Shine line is that though they are very shiny (like the name suggests!), they are prone to more-than-usual tip wear.  I have been wearing Wavy Blue for about 20 hours, during which 7 of them I was sleeping, and I have tip wear on every finger. :(  I wonder why that is...

Do you have any of the Triple Shines, and if so, what do you think about them?

My leftovers are now finished, as is my review.  Thanks for reading, and have a lovely day! <3

    1. It is pretty summery...come to think of it, a lot of those polishes are summery. :)

  2. I have a few triple shines sitting on my untried pile from a Walgreens sale and I think (hope!) Wavy Blue is one of them because it's really pretty. Why or why do the pretty ones wear out the fastest though? They are both gorgeous!

    1. I also bought Vanity Flare because it was a purple hue I didn't have (who would have guess I didn't have something??), and when I wore it, the tip wear was *horrible*...worse than these 2. I don't get it! Does the shiny stuff make it wear off?

    2. I have an Essie polish with terrible tip wear but the color is TDF. I have to touch up, wrap my nail tips, and dab on top coat EACH DAY of my mani! If I didn't love Toggle to the Top so much, I'd kick it to the curb. I can wear the raspberry-ish reds, but Red Snapper would make me run down the street screaming.

    3. LOLOL...well...I'm not a fan of orange reds, but it was hubby's pick. <3 Wrapping tips does absolutely NOTHING for me. Not one thing.

  3. Hi Melissa - between your hubby and you, you make the perfect shopping duo - both shades are absolutely stunning! The squishiness of Red Snapper is so, well squishy and that shine in Wavy Blue seems to have a lilac duo chrome shift? Or do my eyes fail me? And grrrrr for the flodd and the tip wear - how annoying and not unfamiliar to me - have a lovely day <3

    1. Aww, he is the best for even going polish shopping with me! <3 I don't think that Wavy Blue has a color shift, but hey, maybe it does, LOL! :P It's so pretty that it could be corn flakes and I'd love it. :D

  4. I was right...I knew your hubby picked out the red. And yup, blue for you! :) These are awesome! Oh, and I love Olive Garden. What do you usually get? I get the 5 Cheese Ziti. Chris gets the Chicken Scampi.

  5. Your DH picked a red for you. I'm shocked, I tell you, SHOCKED!! Ha. Glad to see a review of these, I've been curious. Did you use a topcoat with these? I always get the same thing at OG but I can't remember the name. It's angel hair with a roma tomato sauce.

    1. Isn't he charmingly predictable? :P I did use top coat...Out the Door, which in my opinion, only dries it and doesn't change the overall appearance because it's so thin.
