Financial Responsibility, Pt. 2: Essie Parka Perfect

Hey everybody!  How has your weekend been?  Mine has been nice, especially because yesterday was cloudy and windy and 50-something.  That's like a vacation for me! :)

Today I am continuing my post series on never-worns, and today's star of my irresponsibility is Essie.  Parka Perfect was released for Winter 2013, and that was a collection that I really liked a lot.  As an added bonus, imagine my surprise when Parka Perfect turned out to be not typically Essie-tastically runny!

Parka Perfect is a dusty blue-grey-green color that has a slight shimmer in the bottle.  Unfortunately, I never could see any shimmer on my nails.  However, that didn't stop me from loving this polish.  The formula is pretty great.  I used two coats for opacity.  Oh, and never mind the tip wear in the pics.  I took these a whole DAY after application, and frankly, I'm surprised there wasn't MORE tip wear. *sigh*

Did you pick up Parka Perfect last year?   I love shades like this one...you know, when you don't really know what to call it, but it seems to look good with about anything. :)

Thanks for stopping by, and have a lovely day! <3

  1. Star of your irresponsibility, lolol :) Another ambiguously perfect Mo color! Essie's been rather interesting as of late, especially their last two winter collections. I find myself looking forward to them now, and yes, an improved formula has lots to do with it :)

    1. It's strange that I love ambiguous colors, because I know myself very well indeed! :) I agree about Essie. I liked fall and winter of last year and some from this year too. And a not runny formula is quite agreeable.

  2. It's a really nice color on you.

We actually have snow on the ground here. In Texas in mid-November. I'm not happy about it and dreading the rest of our winter, which is supposed to be extra cold and wet.

    1. Snow already? Grrrr...so jealous. Extra cold and wet sounds great too. We're in a drought...I live on a dirt road, and every jaunt to work looks like a dust storm just hit. :/

  3. I loved this polish when it came out but didn't get around to picking it up until last spring. The formula wasn't as good for me as it was for you and it took me three coats to camo my ridges, but the color is gorgeous. Kind of a fusion of sky blue, white and grey. It reminds me of a vintage cashmere sweater....

    1. The weather here today is slightly chilly with light rain and fog -- awesome!

    2. I don't know about a vintage cashmere sweater, but I just got a brand new orange one! :) Okay, you may have guessed that Mom gave it to me because she discovered she couldn't wear it after all...I would never have spent my hard-earned money on anything orange. :D Uh...anyway...yes this color is so pretty. It reminds me of the more blue version of Maximillian Strasse-Her, which also has a great formula for an Essie.

That is awesome weather! My personal favorite weather is windy, raining and 40. The big front is moving in now, so we are getting into the 30's tonight! YAY...

    3. Whenever the barometer drops, I'm a happy (or happier) camper!

  4. Oh this is very pretty, too bad about the shimmer not transferring to the nail. We've been getting some colder temps and rain as well, I have been so happy to wear my boots and scarfs already! ^.^

    1. Wow...that's pretty early for you guys, isn't it? We had the lowest temps here in decades this past week. Oh, how lovely. <3 Yes, this is a very pretty color...it's so nice that I'll forgive it for not coughing up some shimmer.
