Simply Elegant: Sally Hansen Satin Glam Go Gold

Hey everybody!  Has your weekend been a good one? :)  After church today, I went to Ulta to redeem my Level *cough* 6 rewards certificate, and of course I had to wander around and look at the polish displays.  And what has happened this week with all these crazy new mainstream polish collections??  I saw a 3-part Sally Hansen display that read "texture three ways" and included nail polish strips, Sugar Shimmers (a shimmery, modified version of the Sugar Coat texture line), and a collection called Satin Glam.  When I read that Satin Glam's description was "a satin ribbon on your nails", I was sold. :D

This is the very elegant Go Gold.  Simple name, much like the polish...simply elegant.

Isn't this pretty?  Satin Glam Go Gold is a soft, muted gold.  Sally Hansen's website says that Satin Glam polishes are infused with pearl particles, so this gives the color a lovely glow.

Application was exceptionally easy and mistake-proof.  The polish applies very shimmery and dries to a smooth sheen.  It was completely opaque with two thin coats.  The dry time was pretty long...it probably took an hour for the polish to not dent on me.

The Satin Glam finish is unlike other suede finishes I've seen because of the pearly base...so fancy! :)

Well, color me astonished...this makes three (3) mainstream/drugstore collections  THIS WEEK that have totally impressed me.  There are eight colors in the Satin Glam line...not very unusual colors, but given the unique finish, I'm sure they would be a gorgeous twist on any color. :)

Have you seen the Sally Hansen Satin Glams yet?  And more importantly, what Ulta rewards level are YOU this quarter?? :P

Thanks for stopping by, and have a lovely day!

  1. Hi Melissa, gosh my eyes are graced!!! What an elegant beauty!!! Gold and pearls and satin? A glam combination!!! We don't have any Ultas - and the rewards here are quite frankly meager, you either have to buy tons or collect for eons to get some decent chunk of points - oh well.... Have a great Monday xxx

  2. Pretty! We also get up really high since my mom, my sister and I all share one Ulta card - insuring we get the best rewards! I love the perfume discount. And picking up some Ulta nail polishes and Piggy Polishes is always fun too. :)

    1. But how do you split up the rewards?? :D Hey, I hear you...I've gotten so many Ulta freebie polishes! But this time, I got a fragrance...then you got a free Christmas serving set (which is pretty nice) for getting a fragrance, then I had $3.50 off a $10 purchase, so I ended up with this huge bag for $7.93. :D

  3. I've always been kinda iffy on the texture trend (despite it looking fabulous on alot of people, including yourself). So, I feel like polishes like this are a happy medium for the shall I say, texture impaired? I may have to go out and track these down once my wallet recovers from some of the Christmas shopping I've done :)

    1. I'll tell you my feelings about textured polishes...I'm not full-blown crazy about them to wear all the time like some girls are. I like it every so often. But, in my opinion, there is nothing prettier than a textured polish with top coat...and removal isn't any different from a regular polish, which is a HUGE bonus with me. This satin finish is something I think you would like...and it looks very classy too. ;)

    1. I know...this gold is so festive! Would you believe I almost got the teal one and resisted? Aren't you proud of me for trying something other than the OBVIOUS color?? :P

  5. You just remind me so much of me sometimes <3<3
This is really pretty! You east coasters get everything first, lol. I'm pretty much sold on anything pearly and I agree with Christine (and you, as it happens, lol) that there are few duos more elegant than gold and pearl.
So Ulta points... I thought they added up over time but I should be at a six this go around but I'm at a two. I was looking forward to my free fume, lol. Kimberley & her fam have a good system going.

These are really lovely, and there is a coral-pink one that has your name on it. :) I'm thinking it would be stunning on the nail. Yeah...Ulta points...I love 'em. Brian gets my free fume, just in time for our anniversary!! :D Last time I was level 9 and terribly ashamed of myself. :/

  6. Level 6... that's amazing! I do most of my shopping at Sephora or other online places, so I usually don't spend as much at Ulta. I do get my hair cut there, so I make Level 1 regularly haha. This color's fantastic on you! It's so pretty and soft and elegant! :D

    1. Hmmm...I can't remember the last time I was level 1, LOL!! The nearest Sephora is an hour away, so Ulta gets AWL my business. And thanks! I think this polish is tres elegante myself. <3

  7. Perfect for the holidays! I love the application on foil polishes like this. So quick and easy. BUT, I'm surprised it took so long to dry.

    1. It was pretty long. Polishes usually take a while to dry on me (I'm guessing because of the humidity), but this time I couldn't use my trusty quick drying top coat to speed up the process. :P It was worth it though...if you have to be conservative with your polish at work then this is a must-have. :)

    1. Simply put, Level 6 means I spent waaaaaayyy too much money at Ulta, LOL. :/ There were a lot of pretty colors that I think would look fabulous with this pearly finish. :)
