Fall Favorites: China Glaze Harvest Moon

Hey everybody!  Do you have a polish that never ceases to amaze you every time you revisit it?  That's how I feel about today's post polish!  You all know I don't like orange...but add a dash of bronze or copper, and we'll talk. ;)  China Glaze Harvest Moon is, in my humble opinion, the epitome of an autumn polish. <3

AHHH...it always gets me, this polish.  It's so stinkin' pretty.  Harvest Moon was one of the many lovely offerings from the 2012 Hunger Games collection.  Wow...now that was a great collection. :)

One of my favorite traits of Harvest Moon is the wonderful application.  It applies like a foil (you can't mess it up!!), but I suppose it's technically a metallic shimmer...make than an extreme shimmer.  This is an October forest of fiery-colored leaves in a bottle.

I applied 3 coats of Harvest Moon for the photos *just* to make sure the visible nail line went bye-bye.  I didn't want that to distract my readers from this amazingly fantastic color and shimmer!

I thought the entire Hunger Games collection looked perfect for fall, even though the movie was released in March.  Oh well!  Hey, speaking of which, are you all excited about the release of Catching Fire??  I am...it was my favorite book of the trilogy!  TEAM PEETA!! :D

Thanks for stopping by, and have a lovely day and a safe weekend! <3

  1. WHOA this is another fall stunner for SURE!! I'd love to see how it compares to that Sweet Color S080 (aka Sweet Pumpkin Spice) :P that I recently posted about.
Seriously lovely, just like you, Melissa! :D
P.S. I know nothing about the Hunger Games other than a) it inspires some great polish collections b) it seems to be as big a phenomenon as Twilight, Harry Potter, et al, & c) I'm the only female in my family that has not read those books. :)

    1. Oh, yeah...it does remind me of the lovely numbered and self-named polish you showed. :) Awwwww, I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy now! YOU are the lovely one! <3 And FYI, I highly recommend The Hunger Games trilogy, but I take extreme umbrage upon seeing it in the same sentence with Twilight, LOL. I have read both series and there is no comparison. Trust me on this one.

  3. I love this polish - so pretty!

And I'm excited for the Catching Fire. And it'll be out in time for my birthday. :) I liked book Peeta more than movie Peeta though - in the movies he just seemed kinda petulant or something. I think it's just something about the actor and how I imagined the character when I read the books. And that I can't get choosing Josh Hutcherson over Liam Hemsworth.

    1. LOL...I know I'm not the norm here, but I would always choose the short guy with the sad eyes over the tall guy with sneaky eyes. And then there's that whole Miley thing... :P Seriously, I loved the book Peeta and I did like movie Peeta too, but I sort of see what you're saying about the dash of petulance. Maybe it's his pouty mouth?

And I suppose I should add that I prefer short men because I'm short. :D

  4. Thank you Melissa for bringing forward such an oldie but goldie (nearly literally)!!! It looks so perfect on you, I am smitten!!! I have it too but my skin looked like it would have caught the ugliest rash ever - clearly not for me despite I just love, love, love the color!!! Hunger Games was never as big in Switzerland I believe. But then I am not the most educated Source for anything movie related I am afraid.....

    1. Oh, why thank you dear Christine...what a compliment! :) Wow, an ugly rash?? How disappointing, because this is such a beautiful polish! I wouldn't have thought it would play so nicely with my skin either, but I like how it looks a lot! And I'm not generally into movies either...I maybe go to one a year...but this one will be my one for the year. :D

  6. I agree, the Hunger Games Collection was a stand-out collection for China Glaze. I have Riveting and love it! That reminds me, I already have a date set with my friend to see the movie this month:) Have a good weekend!

    1. From what I've see, Riveting looks like Bend Over Backwards from the Cirque du Soleil collection...fiery from within, right? YAY, I wish I had a date set with somebody to see Catching Fire, but not as yet. :)

    1. YAY for foils!! I love them. I guess you could call Harvest Moon a foil hybrid...the best of foil and shimmer. :)

  9. It was a nice collection and this one's truly a stunner, and gorgeous on you. I have all sorts of thoughts on this series and none of them good, lol. Jennifer Lawrence is very pretty and the costumes would be fun to see, but I absolutely despise the story line so I'll have to count on the gossip rags in the break room to keep me informed, lol.

    1. Why thank you dear. <3 My thoughts upon reading the series were 1) I could see it all happening one day, and 2) Those books should NOT have been marketed for "young adults". I loved the merge of George Orwell and reality television, and I could totally see it all happen.
